Relief from trauma is possible, without discussing it.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a life-changing, therapeutic approach designed to help individuals re-process past traumatic experiences, emotional distress, and deeply rooted negative beliefs to heal from emotional, somatic and psychological triggers.

It involves using bilateral eye movements or other forms of stimulation to aide in the brain’s natural healing process, allowing individuals to change they way they perceive the past, and ultimately resolve painful memories.

EMDR is highly effective in a myriad of conditions and difficulties including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), acute traumas, developmental trauma, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, phobias and other stress-related conditions.

Results include the reduction or elimination of emotional intensity surrounding the past trauma, changed perception of the event or trauma, improved mental clarity, a more positive outlook on life, and improved relationships, thus helping individuals move forward in life with greater emotional resilience and peace.

Approaches

  • Trauma Therapy Intensives

Trauma therapy intensives are condensed, and expedite sessions that provide a "fast pass" to effectively addressing painful, disturbing or overwhelming memories, feelings and negative core beliefs related to what you would consider traumatic experiences, instead of waiting due to therapist wait-lists, or attempting to talk through the trauma at weekly or bi-weekly sessions. Trauma-informed intensives bring the targeted tools, theories, techniques and care to resolve the deep pain that talk therapy is unable to do. The 53 minute medical model of therapy employed by insurance companies boxes your reprocessing into that hour weekly, further delaying your path to closure and your sense of resolution. Trauma Intensives uniquely provide dedicated time and space between client and therapist to re-process unresolved pain at your pace, and regain a sense of control and safety in your life.

  • EMDR Trauma Therapy

EMDR is a structured trauma-informed modality or form of therapy that addresses the “implicit” or fragmented memories from your past, negative core beliefs developed early on that have shaded the decisions in your life, and the emotions and feelings that get triggered and cause somatic and emotional distress, many times without notice. EMDR is a holistic approach to trauma where all facets of your body, mind and life experience, as well as your senses are taken into account when preparing, reprocessing, regulation and closing. Faith-led beliefs are also taken into account, as client finds important and necessary. For those struggling with overwhelming emotions, emotional dysregulation, flashbacks, self-esteem, phobias, addictive or compulsive behaviors, disordered eating, anxiety, difficulty trusting others, or feeling stuck in patterns of fear or distress, EMDR is a right fit!

  • Couples therapy Intensives

Did you know that most couples experiencing distress or communication issues, will wait over 6-7 years to seek professional help? Many feel a sense of shame or inadequacy, keeping them at an impasse, further complicating the sense of disconnection and negative sentiment, that it ultimately destroys their emotional and sexual intimacy. If you are struggling with recurring conflict, difficulty with managing conflict, emotional disconnection, feeling stuck despite previous efforts in weekly couples therapy, feeling paralyzing shame of failure, or simply desire to improve as a couple, or start your relationship “right”, a couples intensive is your path to restoration, growth as a unit, and sustainable change that rebuilds trust, deepens intimacy, and resolves pervasive patterns in a quicker manner.

  • Ketamine (KAP) & EMDR Intensive Series

Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) & EMDR combined is the perfect solution to many treatment-resistant clients. This includes clients who have not just tried traditional therapy using various more common treatment methods and approaches, but clients who have medication-resistant depression and are poor responders to SSRIs/SNRIs (seek medical advice). The KAP & EMDR Intensive are for self-aware clients who want to dive deep into areas where talk therapy and other modalities have barely grazed. If EMDR is the field-goal for deep-seated trauma, the KAP & EMDR Model is the touchdown, effectively reprocessing those memories lying just beneath the surface, that are easily triggered but difficult to talk about, and many are unable to even identify accurately. There is a softer way to smooth out all the jagged edges.

Trauma no longer has to have control over your sense of well-being and quality of life. There is evidence it can get better, and I am here to help. You don’t have to do it alone anymore.
